Good afternoon, Tigers!

This is Mr. Wolin, principal of Richey Elementary.

Each Sunday, you can expect a message from the school with important updates for the week ahead.

Tomorrow is the first day of school, and we are so excited to welcome our Tigers back! For the first day only, Kindergarten parents may walk their children all the way to the classroom door. Starting Tuesday, we will begin our regular procedures—no parents or guardians walking students to class.

This first week, we’ll focus on practicing routines, procedures, and expectations so students feel comfortable and confident. Please help us by reinforcing positive behaviors at home—such as staying focused, following directions, and showing respect. Last week, we shared our new behavioral flowchart, and we’ll be reviewing it with students as well. Both the superintendent and our school are committed to reducing distractions so that all students can learn at their best.

A reminder about attendance—this year, the state is tightening rules around chronic absences. Any ongoing attendance concerns will be reported to the superintendent and state truancy officers. It is crucial your child is in school whenever possible so they don’t miss valuable learning time.

We care deeply about your children and are committed to giving them the best educational experience possible. To do this, we need your support—working together in a positive and productive way. Pasco Schools has a Civility Policy in place, which means that if any adult is aggressive, threatening, or uses inappropriate language toward staff, meetings will be ended and that adult may be trespassed from campus. Let’s make sure we’re modeling the same respectful behavior we want to see in our children—even in challenging moments.

Let’s start this school year with positivity, partnership, and pride. We’re looking forward to an amazing year ahead at Richey Elementary!

Go Tigers! 🐯
